Choosing
Excellence in All That We Do
August
24, 2008
As I said in the Administrative Update on Friday, we are
truly looking forward to the new school year.
My family and I must be ready … we got back in the school mode yesterday
by heading to the Maryland Science Center … even ran into some Marriotts Ridge
folks there.
When I reviewed Friday’s e School message, I realized that
I had forgotten to mention one important thing … where are students to go in
the building when they get here on Monday morning. Students must remember to bring the
schedules that were mailed home and report to the rooms listed next to their first
period classes. We do not have
homerooms … we want to begin our regular schedule on the first day and
therefore expect students to head to their first period classes upon
arrival. In First Period, students will
receive new copies (on bright blue paper) of their schedules for the year with
course names, room #s, and teachers’ names listed. We will have staff members posted around the
building to help with directions, making sure all students make it to the
correct classes. Students who do not
have schedules with them on Monday for some reason just need to ask one of the
staff members in the hallways for some help in locating their first period
classes…. this will be my 18th opening day and I am always impressed
by how our students always do a wonderful job of getting the year started on
the right note.
For those of you who are returning, you will see many
familiar faces around the school.

One final note … students are reminded that appropriate
attire is expected. Appropriate school
gear does not include hats, sunglasses, tank tops, short shorts, etc … sorry …
summer is coming to an end …
Set the alarm clocks now … the late bell rings at 7:25
tomorrow morning!
